"Oh no!"

Gina looked up as Jo unrolled her sleeping bag. "It's soaked through..."

Gina took the bag from Jo, and draped it over a large root that hung from the cave roof directly over the fire. "And where do I sleep now?" Jo asked.

Gina sat down on her bed, and patted herself, before holding out her arms. "You?" Jo asked. Well, why not? She's big, soft, cuddly...probably be very warm and comfy...

Jo allowed Gina to take her in her arms, and soon she was snuggled up close next to the wolfgirl. Suddenly, Jo felt safe - really safe - for the first time in a long time.

"Goodnight, Gina." she whispered. The wolfgirl growled, before kissing Jo's forehead...

The forest just on the edge of town had become a familiar place for Megan. It had been her training ground, her playground, and now it would become something more. She and Natalie skidded to a stop deep amongst the trees, Megan's whole body buzzing with anticipation. She'd read about sex, sure, and of course she'd pleasured herself, but to actually become intimate with someone was almost overwhelming to her. Still, she wanted it. She'd read that the first time wasn't always perfect, but she knew how she liked to be touched. She hoped Natalie liked to be touched similarly. Ah, Natalie... her friend, mentor, and now lover. Under the light of the moon, Megan stroked Natalie's waist and said "I love you, Natalie, and I thank god everyday that you came into my life."

"I love you too, Megan." She stepped closer to Megan and placed her hands on the girl's sides. "We can go as slow as you-" Natalie was cut off with another open-mouthed kiss, a kiss which she gladly returned. Megan kissed her again and again, each time moving from gentle tenderness to something a little rougher. Even a little more aggressive. Nat was surprised; she hadn't figured her seemingly shy protege had such a wild side hiding inside her.

"I've wanted this for so long," Megan said as she came up for air for a moment, gasping for breath, and Nat wondered if she meant sex in general or sex with her specifically. She began rubbing Nat's breasts, causing her to moan as her sensitive nipples were stroked. "Do you like that?" Megan asked, and Nat's hands became busy giving Megan a little taste of her own medicine. "Oh, yes, keep doing that..."

But Natalie wasn't one to take orders. She stopped rubbing Megan's breasts and began kissing them, even licking them, starting slowly and building to superspeed as only a superpowered naked girl could do it. Megan plunged her own hands into her pussy, stroking and rubbing herself, her eyes seeing stars and colors as she approached orgasm. She shouted out in pleasure, her legs turning to jelly as Natalie brought her to climax. As she came she embraced Natalie and playfully fell over, taking her lover with her as she fell against a tree with enough force to knock it down. The massive trunk fell to the ground, crashing into the earth as Megan came down from her pleasurable high. "Was it good for you?" Natalie teased and both girls caught their breaths.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

A crashing sound from somewhere fairly nearby roused Jo from sleep. Gina was still holding her close... holding her safe... and the wolfgirl's slow breathing told Jo that she was still asleep, as she could feel Gina's chest slowly rising and falling against her back. "Did you hear something?" Jo whispered, but Gina snoozed on. Guess not, Jo thought.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

With Katie and Cammy fast asleep beside her, Aly masturbated. Gently, so as not to disturb her friends, but enough to keep herself on the brink of orgasm. She smiled as she wondered just what the press would make of it all if they knew what really went on behind closed doors...

"So you're not worn out either?" Nat's voice was less than a whisper, quieter than a human ear could detect but perfectly audible to Alison.

"You know how it is." she replied, equally quietly. "These two are great lovers...but there's only so much they can do." She smiled. "What do you mean by either?"

"Megan." Nat said simply. "I just made love to her."

"Megan?" Aly asked. "Wow...was she good?"

"She was...incredible. I wouldn't have believed that someone who can seem so shy and gentle could be so...so forceful."

"Yeah, well...it's always us shy ones you have to watch out for." Aly slid gently out of bed, so as not to wake her sleeping lovers, and met Nat at the door.

"I'd forgotten how good it could feel." Nat said. "I mean, the touching and holding and tenderness is always so wonderful...but there's something to be said for a good hard fuck, especially with another superhuman."

"But you're in the mood for more, huh?" Nat nodded. "Well...if we're gonna go, let's go." Aly took Nat's hand and began to head for the front door, presumably planning to go back to the forest, but Nat stopped her.

"I promised Katie," she said, "that I will protect her, no matter what. I'd rather not leave them alone...especially so soon after-"

Aly took Natalie in her arms and held her tightly for a few moments. "Oh, I understand." she said. "Sorry..."

"It's alright. You didn't go through it all." Nat replied. "Anyway, having said that, we don't need to leave the house."

"Sure we don't, assuming you wanna run the risk of us knocking the place down."

Nat grinned - and held up a vial of shrinking serum. "Not if we get super small, we won't..."

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Jo felt slightly homesick as a smell of food the like of which she'd not smelt she'd lived with her parents filled her nostrils. As the morning sunlight flooded the cave, she sat up, and saw Gina's massive form crouched next to the fire, which was burning brightly once again. In her paw, the wolfgirl held - a frying pan?

Jo got up, and went over to see what her new friend was up to. Bacon and eggs were sizzling in the pan, and there was a box of cornflakes, bottle of orange juice, a bowl, spoon and a glass on the ground beside her. "You cooked me breakfast." Jo was amazed. "You don't know how many mornings I've woken up longing for this."

Then reality kicked in - surely Gina didn't keep all this stuff in her little cave? "You stole these, didn't you?" she asked. Gina nodded guiltily. "Hey, it's alright...you don't live on the streets for four years without learning to take what you need."

Jo scratched behind Gina's ears, and the wolfgirl growled appreciatively. "I slept like a log." Jo told her. "First time in ages...you're real comfy. Thanks."

Gina flashed Jo a fanged smile. "Will you promise me something, though?" she asked. "You'll take all this stuff back to where you got them from when we're done with them?"

The wolfgirl nodded eagerly, before serving up Jo's breakfast and handing it to her. "Well," Jo added, "Assuming I leave anything for you to take back..."

Jo eagerly scarfed down the meal Gina had prepared for her. She especially enjoyed the eggs, plus she had a bowl of the cereal and drank juice right from the carton. Gina ate mostly bacon. In fact, she ate a bunch of it, probably a whole slab. Jo figured that it made sense. Large carnivores weren't known for devouring whole bowls of corn flakes, after all. After eating, Gina sat back against the cave wall and rested her hands in her lap as he enjoyed the process of digestion. As Jo took another bite of egg she smiled at how contented Gina looked. "Whatcha thinkin'?" Jo asked her, and although she knew she wouldn't get a verbal response, she still wanted to know what was on her new friend's mind. Gina pointed at Jo in response, to which Jo said "Me? You're thinking about me?", and Gina nodded. "Good things I hope," to which Gina chuckled with a deep throaty giggle. Gina then pointed back at Jo again with an inquisitive look in her eyes. "Me? What am I thinking?" Jo asked, clarifying. "Right now, how good it feels to be full. I haven't eaten this much in one sitting in months. Thanks again for putting it all together." Gina gave a "T'weren't nothin', ma'am," look. Jo put the empty bowl on the cave floor after drinking the last of the milk from it, and now she too rested against the cave wall. Food and a friend... what more could anyone ask for?

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Megan rolled out of bed with a smile on her face. Last night had been wonderful. Fantastic. Orgasmtastic. Wait, is that a word? she wondered. Well, it is now! In addition to sexual bliss, Megan had come away from the forest last night with something else important: good advice. Natalie had a point about life being too short and all. As Megan prepared for her day (the first day of classes being back on after all the excitement of Natalie and Alison's revelations) she vowed to get to know Wendy better. Maybe a relationship would come out of it and maybe not. Either way, Megan fancied finding out. Even if Wendy wasn't into girls perhaps a good friendship could still come out of it. All of that confidence that Megan had been brimming with faded away when she clasped her bra, but she promised herself she'd set things in motion. Like most days she'd probably find Wendy having lunch outside the library around noon or so. Megan promised herself she'd put her nerves away and talk with her. Just talk. No pressure. God, I was nervous enough around boys. I think I'm worse around girls!
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Cammy didn't want to get up. If it were up to her she'd stay here in bed all day next to Katie. Alas, someone had to be the one to keep food on the table, and at the moment that someone was her. Those library books wouldn't sort themselves. As much as she wanted to let Katie sleep onwards, she roused her lover as she got out of bed. "Time to go back to reality," she teased as Katie woke up, kicking the empty popcorn bowl away.

Katie yawned and said "Aw, I wanted to watch the naked supergirls all day," then laughed in spite of herself.

"We can do that tonight," Cammy said as she slipped on her panties. "I think they've already gone out for the day."

"That's the downside to this," Katie said. "Now it's going to be like they're always on duty. I'm worried we won't see them as much."

"Are you kidding? We'll be seeing so much more of them. Everyone will." The phone interrupted the conversation. Cammy answered it and confirmed to Officer Jordan that, yes, they were awake and up. Apparently Natalie had requested a wake up call for them. "Hope's waiting for us outside."

"And I wish we didn't have to have the police escort."

"It's just for when our girls aren't here. I don't know about you, but I like having her around. Makes me feel safer when we're on our own."

"I know. Everyone needs someone to watch over them sometimes. It's just that we already have our own personal guardian angels."

"Remember, they're everyone's guardian angels now," Cammy corrected, and Katie knew that she was right. "C'mon, get dressed. We'll be late."

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Megan sat at a table outside the library, watching the world go by. She'd rehearsed about a hundred times what she might say to Wendy, but as the object of her desire came into view, her mind went blank. What the hell was she gonna say to her?

"Hey, Megan." Wendy's smile made Megan feel weak at the knees even though she wasn't standing up, and the supergirl struggled to keep her nerve. "What's up?"

"Oh, nothing much...you?"

"Yeah, same I guess. Oh, I never asked - did you get a glimpse of the supergirls the other day?"

"Yeah, I saw them downtown when they made their little speech." Megan replied, desperate to add that not only had she been there - she was one of them!

"Really? Man, you must have moved fast. I tried to make it down there too, but the traffic was a nightmare, and they'd gone by the time I got there." She paused. "Y'know...it would be great for my article if I could get the thoughts of someone who was actually there. Could I maybe interview you for it?"

"Sure." Megan replied, eager to do anything to get closer to Wendy. "How about we have lunch here together?"

"Well, that might not be a good place for an interview. Canteen can get pretty noisy. How about you come over my place later?"

Oh, this was almost too good! Careful, Megan told herself. It's not a date, it might not even be hanging out together...

But it's a start.
"That'd be great." Megan replied.

"Having said that, I was gonna go for lunch soon anyway. Wanna come with?"

"Sure I do." Megan tried her best to as calm as possible, but her heart was pounding and she was worried that her face might be starting to turn red with the excitement.

"Great! Listen, I've got to go sort out something about my tuition fees in the registry office - how about I meet you over in the canteen in, say, half an hour? Then we can come sit back here."

"Great. I-I'll see you then."

"Sure. Catch you in a bit!"

As Wendy walked away, Megan watched her go...more exactly, she watched her ass, swaying almost hypnotically beneath her short skirt.

Please let her be a lesbian and single, she thought. Oh please, please...

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Gina arrived back in the forest with superspeed after returning what was left of the stolen breakfast supplies. The food was all gone, of course, but she returned the pan and the flatware. Gina wasn't sure why she went along with Jo's desire to return them. She'd just have to take more tomorrow to make more breakfast. So why'd she comply? The wolfgirl found her answer back at her makeshift home. "Over here!" Jo called out when she saw Gina looking around for her. Gina walked down to the shore of the river and found Jo out for a swim, her clothes piled on one of the large rocks near the shore. "C'mon in, the water's fine." The river was deeper here, allowing the water to come up to Jo's neck when she stood on the bottom. Gina approached the water and, testing it, she stuck one of her foot-paws into the river. She shuddered with a shiver. "Oh come on, it's not cold at all," Jo said, floating on her back, her face and breasts sticking up out of the water and her hair swirling around her head.

Slowly, Gina began to walk into the river, shivering with every step. By the time the water was at her waist, however, it was feeling warmer as her body adjusted to the temperature. Jo was right. The water really was nice. She submerged herself the rest of the way and swam out to Jo's position, popping up right next to her. "Hi," Jo said with a smile (which Gina returned). "I love how deep the river is here. Back at the old camp I could never have swam like this. I was on the swim team my freshman year, y'know. I never ranked very high though. I just wanted to be in the water." Gina's eyes lit up at Jo's statement. "What is it?" Jo asked, sensing her excitement. She righted herself in the water and covered her chest with her arms, asking "Do you see someone?"

Gina shook her head no and then pointed at herself, then slapped her paws against the water's surface in a mock swimming motion. "Swimming?" Jo asked, getting better at the game of charades needed to understand what Gina was talking about. "You... you were on a swim team too?" Gina nodded affirmative, all smiles that the two had something more in common than being homeless. "Feel up to a little race then?" Gina's excitement was uncontainable at this point, and she pointed to a large tree that could be seen way out in the distance. This tree had a big branch that grew out over the river. The wolfgirl pointed at their present position in the river and then to the tree again. "We'll race from here to that tree?" Jo said, again getting confirmation. "You're on, girly. But no superpowers!" Gina growled a fake grunt of disappointment.

As the two took up starting positions something occurred to Jo. "Wait a minute," she said, "We can't have a race without there being something at stake. We need a little wager." Gina looked at her and wondered what she could possibly have in mind. "Hmm, let's see... if I win, you have to keep me warm at night from now on," she said, thinking back to how secure she'd felt last night protected by Gina's warm body and large arms. "And if you win... let's see... if you win..." Gina took the initiative and set her own condition. She took Jo's hand and rubbed her palm against her furry tummy. "Ah!" Jo said. "And if you win, I have to pet you and stroke you whenever you want." Gina gave her best attempt at a thumbs-up (not easy with paws) and the two prepared to race. "On the count of five. 1... 2... 5!"

Jo started moving, propelling herself through the water in a manner she hadn't done since she left the swim team. The crystal water glided over and across her naked body, chilling her and yet at the same time bringing a little fire to her soul. Competition was never her thing though, and even now Jo wasn't giving the race her 100% effort. After all, if she lost she'd have to pet Gina which, to be honest, she found appealing. Stroking her new friend's soft fur helped her relax and the wolfgirl made the cutest contented growl-purr she'd ever heard when Jo would pet her. After swimming a bit downriver Jo looked around to see where Gina was. She discovered that her friend was keeping pace with her even though it was obvious Gina could have blasted on by her, powers or no powers. She wondered if Gina was trying to lose the race on purpose too. As they approached the finish line, Jo had a devil of an idea. She reached to her side and grabbed hold of Gina's arm, causing the two of them to glide by the large branch at the same time. "Looks like we tied," Jo said, very aware of what she was doing. "And where I come from, that means we both have to honor our bets." Gina tried to hide her enthusiastic smile. She couldn't have imagined a better outcome. A gush of water broke her reverie, and Gina turned to find Jo in motion again. "Splash fight!" she called, shoving water at her friend. Gina gave as good as she got and the two friends spent the rest of the day frolicking in the clear river water.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

"They're doing it again," Aly whispered, to which Natalie had to agree. The two superheroines were walking at normal speed down the sidewalk near downtown, having just rescued a tiny kitten from a very tall tree. As they walked (tempted to hold hands, but didn't) they could feel the eyes of everyone around upon them. Staring. People always stared. The placement of eyes always told the girls what the people were thinking. A college-aged guy had his gaze locked on Aly's tits as he walked by, trying not to be caught looking. A thirteen-year-old boy was gaping with his mouth open as the girls passed, and his mother covered his eyes with her hand and shot the girls a dirty look. A middle-aged soccer mom drove by in her mini-van, slowing down so she could yell "Put some clothes on!" out the window before driving off.

"They'll get used to it," Natalie said quietly to her partner. Just then a man darted in front of them, snapped a picture with his cameraphone, and ran off again, watching his back to see if the girls were following him. They weren't. Natalie knew that enough pictures of them had been taken in the last few days that their bare bodies were all over the Internet by now. Word was spreading about their amazing abilities, but some publications (and people) made a bigger deal of their nudity.

"Let's get out of here," Aly pleaded. "This is making me uncomfortable."

Natalie didn't like being ogled or shamed either, but she knew there'd be resistance at first. "We'll have to get used to it, too," she reminded Aly as they walked defiantly towards the crosswalk, headed for a little local sandwich shop for lunch. Nat hoped that the "No Shirt / No Shoes / No Service" sign on the door wouldn't apply to them.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

A few days later, Katie found herself on the doorstep of Joyce's house. "Katie! I haven't seen you in ages..."

"Hi, Mrs Nightingale." Katie and Joyce hugged, as Nat's mother ushered her inside.

"Well now, what brings you here?"

Katie looked a little nervous, as she and Joyce sat down on the sofa together. "It's about Natalie..."

"Nothing wrong, is there?"

"No...well, yeah, kinda. Have you seen this?" Katie handed Joyce that day's edition of the Daily Chronicle, opened to a center feature on Nat and Aly. Titled The Great Exhibitionists, the piece focused solely on the superheroines' nudity, ignoring all the good they'd done and instead attacking the girls for not wearing clothes. "I've just gotten her to admit to herself that she's a superhero," Katie said, "and that she should be using her powers publicly...now she is, and the criticism she's getting just isn't fair."

"No, honey, it isn't...but how do we get around the nudity? Any ideas?"

"As a matter of fact, I do. Ever since that accident - y'know, the serum I spilt on Nat that she was never meant to have - I've been trying to find a way around what it did to her, and a few days ago, I came up with something. I've developed a chemical solution that, when you soak a material fiber in it, endows the material with the same physical properties as Nat and Aly's skin. Basically, I'm trying to fool their bodies into believing that they're still naked, when actually they're clothed."

"And it's worked?" Joyce asked.

Katie nodded eagerly. "I think so, but I need a test subject, and since I wanna surprise them with this...could I use you?"

"Sure...what do you need me to do?"

"Just strip." Katie asked, before holding up a crudely sewn-together armband. "And put this on."

Joyce did as Katie said, sliding the armband onto her wrist once she was naked. "Anything?" Katie asked.

"I still have all my powers, yeah...that's good, right?"

"I think so." Katie replied happily, and Joyce got dressed again. "Anyway, long story short, they can both have some sort of superhero costume made from this material for when they're out in public, and...well, as you can see from the armband, textiles isn't my strongest subject, but Nat's told me you were always very good at it."

"Oh yeah, before my powers developed I was gonna be the greatest fashion designer the world had ever seen..."

Katie grinned. "Well...if I get enough treated materials for you...could you make Natalie a superhero costume?"

"I think I probably could, yes." Joyce replied. "Anything specific, or do you want me to design it too?"

"Actually, I do have an idea...it's one that I've had pretty much ever since I found out about her powers." Katie handed Joyce a folder, containing photos and screengrabs (courtesy of Megan's DVDs) of Christopher Reeve's Superman outfit. "I want her to be Superwoman, as close as possible to this."

Joyce examined the pictures for a while. Having the special powers and saving people was one thing, but running around dressed like this was heading into the realms of fantasy ever so slightly, and she wasn't sure that she herself could ever have done it. "Do you really think she'd wear this?" she asked.

"I know she would." Katie replied confidently. "Oh, and this has to be absolutely secret. I want surprise them."

"Nobody'll hear it from me." Joyce told her. "Yeah, I can do this for you. But, um...how can I get her measurements without her knowing?"

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

This is too surreal, thought Joyce Nightingale, as she measured Katie - now in the form of Natalie - for a superhero costume. Her daughter's girlfriend had captured Nat's entire appearance so perfectly that any doubts she might have had about the accuracy of the measurements were long since dispelled.

"Mrs Nightingale?"

God, even the voice is spot on. "Katie, I've told you a million times, call me Joyce."

"Joyce..."

"Yes Katie..."

"What...what happened between you, and Nat, and her dad...before I met her?"

Joyce paused. "You mean...why did he leave us?...Natalie's not told you anything?"

Katie shook her head. "She can't talk about it...but I feel like I need to know...that is, if you think you can tell me."

"Don't be silly - you're practically family now, of course I can talk to you." Joyce shook her head. "Problem is knowing where to begin. Peter and I...we had an argument. It was a few weeks after I'd told him about my powers, and he wasn't dealing with it very well. It was my fault from keeping it from him for so long, but it was such a difficult thing to live with. Anyway, I made it clear to him that I wasn't going to stop going out of a night and looking for people who needed my help...and then he got it into his head that I was having an affair. I wasn't, of course. He knew exactly what I was doing, and he simply couldn't face it..."

"So what happened?" Katie asked. "To make him leave, I mean..."

"I, um...made a big mistake. I told him that Natalie would end up with these powers some day...and that was more than he could take. He packed up and left, while Nat and I were out one day...and that was the last time either of us saw him."

"How did Nat take it?" Katie asked. "I've never really been able to get her to talk about it, but I know she's still really upset about it...and about what she did to you..."

Joyce nodded. "She went completely off the rails. She loved her father, and whenever she wrote to him asking what happened, he would tell her to ask me...but I couldn't tell her. She got abusive, fell in with the wrong crowd...I could come home and find her in bed getting stoned with some guy I'd never seen before, or she could come staggering in at 3am completely drunk...she told me she hated me, many times, and I didn't think we were ever gonna get past all that. The only reason she stayed with me was because she couldn't hold on to a job long enough to make any money."

"That's why I think she can't talk about it." Katie said. "She's really ashamed of what she did...the way she treated you...and she doesn't want me to think about the way she used to be."

"I know." Joyce replied. "And she's really made an effort to patch things up between us. I'm not telling you this so that you'll think any less of her, because I know you couldn't...but what happened turned her into a very different person."

She smiled. "But now look at you...her. She's following in her crazy old mom's footsteps. If Peter was still here, he'd being going berserk right now..." After scribbling down the last of 'Natalie's' measurements, she said "That's it. All done."

Katie stepped off the chair and began to get dressed again. "What about you? Are you OK with her doing this?"

"It's a bit late now to ask me that now, isn't it?"

Katie giggled, and Joyce shook her head in amazement. "This is getting creepy...you're her. You don't just look like her, you're acting exactly like her...you've picked up all the little mannerisms that only a mother would notice..."

"A mother...or a girlfriend." Katie replied, as she changed back into her usual form. "Nat and I have been together for over three-and-a-half years, remember?"

"Has it really been that long?" Joyce asked.

"Sure has...and I'd just like to thank you for being so supportive. It means a lot to both of us."

"Oh, that's alright." Joyce replied, as Katie gave her another little hug. "You've made her so happy, Katie...if you could see how she was just before she left for college. She'd just about managed to turn herself back around, enough to get the marks she needed to get in...but she'd finally realised that the people she'd been spending time with weren't her real friends, and she was so lonely."

"So was I." Katie said. "I haven't felt that feeling in a long time, though..."

"No...lucky you..."

Oh hell, Katie thought, as she followed Joyce from her bedroom back into the living room. "Has there ever been anyone else for you?" she asked.

"No...no-one at all..."

"Have you even tried to find yourself another guy...or maybe a girl?..."

"Er...no, I don't swing that way."

Katie grinned. "Nat didn't think she did, until she met me...and she must have gotten it from somewhere..."

Joyce shook her head. "I've always thought that there was one person out there for each of us...just one. I had mine...and I blew it."

Katie felt terrible. She was happy with Natalie and her other friends, but Joyce was all alone in the world, and had been for years. "Did Natalie ever try to find her father?" she asked.

Joyce shook her head. "She wanted to." she said. "But we had no idea where to start. Each letter we'd get, usually at Christmas or on her birthday, would come from a different place than the last one had...but now that she's famous, I can't help wondering what he thinks of it all..." Glancing at Katie, she added "I do know that she would want to find him."

"I think she does too." Katie replied. "She's not said anything...but now that she knows your side of the story, I think she wants to try to settle things between you both."

"I don't know...maybe it's all best left buried..."

Katie didn't like the sound of that, and as she took hold of Joyce's hand, she said "But we both know, don't we...if anyone can make something happen, can really make a difference...it's Natalie."

Joyce managed to smile, and nodded her agreement...
